400 Deaths

So simple and addicting, and the music took me back to Old School Gameboy games.

You gave us a taste with 15 Levels, but I think you should make a Space is Key 2 with 15 more challenging levels.

This simple formula need not be changed, it's perfect just the way it is.

I really couldn't bring myself to even explore outside of the town. It's text based, it's bland, and definitely not a game I care to play any further.

Instead of just text, and one picture for each region, maybe you should make a picture for each square we explore, that way it would keep the game interesting, and it wouldn't be so one dimensional.

This is also an evil way to trick kids into reading, shame on you :D

It's a little frustrating

I think 7 is a good score for this game, it's got more than enough to keep any player occupied. That thing I found frustrating was having to kill the same enemies every time I accidentally went into a different room. I also never took the time to finish the game, because I saw you had the C button included to switch weapons (when available) whatever that means. Well I played for a while and I never found any different weapons, and I was a little bit pissed because that little pistol just wasn't going to do it for me. Good try keeping my attention though, good luck with your future games.

Kitty!

I really like games like these. I don't think people really understand the fact that these games are supposed to be relaxing time wasters that don't require much brain power, if they want to play an action packed shoot em up game, they should go and play a fucking action packed shoot em up game, not give you a bad review for making this game. Each scene presented it's self in their own unique ways, and the story of a cat wanting milk, while not original, it's classic. I'm sure any cat lover could appreciate this game.

I really liked the music in the game too, it really brought it all together.

Hope to play more of these games in the future.

Floor 562 and counting

I really don't know why I'm still playing this game, I guess mostly to cure the boredom. After a while seeing the same 3 enemies gets to be a bit repetitive. No boss battles? And when I'm upgrading I don't really feel a sense of my character getting stronger, I'm just sitting here wondering how long it's going to take until he dies.

I like the concept, but it lacks fun and re-playability.

I take it there is no 'Highest Floor of the Tower'? Being the name of this game is Infinite tower

Cha!

Wasn't bad of a game but I do think the weapons system and upgrades could use a little bit of work. I never really saw a progress bar that tells us how far we were from upgrades, unless your upgrading system was, we get an upgrade for every other level.

The upgrades themselves were really poor, the penetrating bullets should do more damage then regular bullets. When I upgraded to the heavy gun, and I started shooting with it, I was just thinking, "What the fuck is this!?" I understand it was supposed to shoot slower than the regular gun, but it was just way too slow, especially when there were drones, 5 Missile Ships, and a Destroyer, 2 of the 3 were shooting tons of missiles.

I didn't want to switch to easy either, that's not the problem at all. I liked the challenge but I just think the upgrades/weapons were poorly executed.

Bad

I played the tutorial so I could figure out how to play the game, but right from the start the whole thing was very confusing, how exactly was I supposed to know what X-Ray to choose? how exactly was I supposed to know which piece to use? Then when the nurse just walked us through the whole process, complete with little yellow circles telling us where to click didn't leave much of a challenge after that. I'm also a little peeved that when I went to play the first level of the game it was exactly the same as the tutorial. I don't think you could really improve on this game, to do so, you'd have to make a totally different game.

Yee-Haw!

You need to fix these things, but I'm definitely going to keep playing.

I don't know if anybody else had this problem but I didn't see anybody else bring this to attention, but I can not shoot diagonally down left or right. When I tried to get the torch challenge done on the 2nd level, I couldn't do it for that reason. One of the torches is diagonally down, and Cactus McCoy is a fatty and can't fit through the hole.

Also you should extend the time challenges, I the challenges are supposed to be difficult, but did you test each level yourself before setting a time to beat? If you didn't you probably should, it never seems like I'll complete those because Cactus McCoy is again, a fatty and runs really slow, and take into account the enemigo battles at the end of the levels cut significant amounts of time off your final one, because we have to wait for THEM to drop down into the screen.

But other than that I really love this game, and I've been coming back day after day just to play it a little bit, it's those difficult yet fun challenges that keep me coming back for more. I hope to see future Cactus McCoy games, even if he's not a cactus he's won a special place in my heart. Not very many flash games have done that ;)

FliplineStudios responds:

Glad you're enjoying the game! We've heard of that problem with shooting diagonally, some keyboards have trouble with two arrow keys + "S", so maybe try switching the controls to Z and X instead to see if that helps. Diagonally down is pretty tough regardless though, it works best if you're jumping or walking forward.

We did test all of the time trials (the times are generally 10 seconds longer than our best times), though it seems that's still pretty difficult for most people, so that probably wasn't the best gauge to use for setting those... we'll keep that in mind for any sequels we might make so they're a bit more reasonable :) Thanks for playing!

I'm going to

keep this short, sweet, and to the point.

Artwork - This is the strongest point of your game.

Upgrades - Terrible, nothing seemed to make a difference. My rate of fire never seemed to change, the new weapons I got never made a bit of a difference. It was poorly executed, and it never seemed like the health upgrade gave me much at all which was frustrating because your constantly loosing life. +Damage never seemed to make the aerial enemies go down any faster.

Enemies - Just way too many of them, Helicopters, Boss Helicopters, Ground Soldiers, Bombers, Rocket Launchers. With all of them flooding the screen the entire time, It made the game look sloppy.

It really could use a lot of tweaking and upgrading before I play this again. This was a game with a bad ass sounding name that failed to deliver.

MindChamber responds:

Enemies flooding the screen was kinda the point of the game, but whatever dawg, we'll work on it thanks

Dear God

This game was really intense! If you ever decide to update this game, you should put a couple of super bombs for when we get in a tough squeeze. Maybe use lives instead of a life bar and give us a chance to get better weapons as we progress. I really didn't like having a nice machine gun for a minute and I loose it right when the going gets tough :P. Last but not least I really like the color ideas in the game, you should put some more in! Greens, Oranges.

Damn good game though! I'll keep playing this for sure!
